Why rattling whitetails doesn't work?

"Rattling doesn't work here; it scares the deer. I tried it a couple of times and never had any luck. I know it works in Texas , but the deer there are different" I can't tell you how universal this statement is; or how many times I have heard it .

"Rattling doesn't work here; it scares the deer. I tried it a couple of times and never had any luck. I know it works in Texas , but the deer there are different" I can't tell you how universal this statement is; or how many times I have heard it .

I make rattling horns; so I do a lot of traveling showing the 4n2s, talking and promoting both rattling and my horns. This allows me the opportunity to meet lots of hunters, and hear their ideas concerning hunting and especially rattling. It is common to have a hunter come up and say that he has tried rattling and never had success ,and that he doesn't know any other hunters in his area that have had any success rattling; then five minutes later , have another hunter, that hunts the same area, come up and tell me about all his successes rattling and how much he love to rattle.

The truth is , the misconception of the effectiveness of rattling has spread like the bird flu, and infected a whole lot of hunters. This negative idea of ratting is costing hunters the opportunity of seeing more bucks, and adding untold enjoyment to their hunts.

I have talked with hunters who reside, hunt, and rattle successfully in almost every State. I know there are times and places that rattling is more effective , but that also applies to any form of attracting bucks including using bait. Whitetail bucks establish breeding dominance the same way no matter where they reside, and there is no downside to rattling when it is done right. The potential gains to be had by rattling are well worth the effort.

Rattling won't work with a negative attitude, but change that to a positive one and any hunter can enjoy the experiences of rattling in bucks. If you are ready to try, I recommend downloading our book :" How to Rattle Whitetail Bucks" at www.bigbuckrattlingantlers.com. This book is our gift to the deer hunter who wants to see more bucks , and contains all that is necessary to successfully rattle.

Rattle on,
